Lunch & Learn – Negotiating Power You Can Use

This interactive workshop that we are offering will be taught by an alumnus of Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation, Joe Monaco. Most people negotiate throughout their lives, and know they risk “getting taken” in the process.

Some of the topics that will be covered:

• When do you negotiate?
• What are the four steps of mutual gains?
• How to separate the people from the problem
• Interests vs. Positions
• How to invent alternatives for mutual gain
• How to invoke objective criteria / measures

About your instructor in negotiation:

Joe Monaco is President & CEO  of Monaco Group, Inc.  He specializes in designing and facilitating socially responsible human performance systems.

His interest in formal negotiation power started as a new employee of a French cosmetics company in the U.S.. He was being terminated by the Vice President of Human Resources whom he never met.  He went to the French head of his division in the United States and asked if he could discuss possible solutions.

Two weeks later, this discussion result in an agreement whereby he started to directly report to the Vice President, which accelerated his career at light speed.

Schedule for Friday May 15th:

We will be opening our doors all day for coworking (which is included in the $5 cost of admission) and so feel free to come in as early as 9am!

The Lunch will be happening at noon and then The Learn will be at 12:30. This program will go on for an hour, and is interactive so be sure to ask questions.

We’ll also be hosting office hours, although the specifics will be announced closer to the date of the event.
