What is a Startup Weekend? It is a series of 54-hour events where developers, designers, marketers, product managers, and start up enthusiasts come together to share ideas, form teams, build products and launch startups!

A Startup Weekend typically begins with people pitching their ideas and receiving feedback. After the best ideas are determined by popular vote, participants choose which specific startup idea they’d like to work on. They then divide into teams and begin working furiously.

As the weekend progresses, the groups  further develop their startup companies and prepare a presentation for local entrepreneurial leaders. Lastly, the startup companies are judged and awards are given.
